Co located library idea

This may seem a little crazy but bear with me. I have an idea and if I could make this work, it would be awesome. I did tinker with the Firestreamer software but couldn't see an obvious way to do the following. Here is my setup:

DPM 2010
Firestreamer
A 4TB SAN slice
A 46TB DAS

At the first of the month, after a full backup, we move the offiste ready fsrm files from the SAN to DAS. If we need to recover files off of a tape that has already been migrated, we have to move it back, invetory, etc. As you are well aware, tapes over 500GB in size do not move quickly, no matter the speed of the network. Is there a way to install a secondary Firestreamer tape library into DPM that could be used to manage the tapes stored on the DAS?

Thanks,
Jamie

What prevents you from loading tapes from both SAN and DAS at the same time into the same library?

You can have up to 8 tape libraries with Firestreamer, see Advanced Configuration.
