Failed to Inventory and E025

Hello,

I am trying to inventory newly created tapes in ArcServe Backup solution and keep getting errors.

ArcServe sees the tapes, but when attempting to inventory, results into <Unreadable Media> tag next to each tape.

At the same time Firestreamer produces two errors: E025 and E010.

10/28/2014 13:04:13 | Error | E025 | L1T001 | Unable to insert the medium [] into a tape drive: The medium URI prefix is invalid.
10/28/2014 13:04:13 | Error | E010 | L1T001 | Unable to read data from the medium.

Please advice.

Your media map file seems to contain empty tape names. Have you created it manually?

No, media map was generated by the application. Here is the content of the current media map

S*||file://F:\VTL_Tapes\MSU_VAULT001.fsrm
S*||file://F:\VTL_Tapes\MSU_0021000000003A.fsrm

Where did you get the content of the current media map from?
How did you apply (load) that media map?
Do you use a script?
What's the content of C:\Windows\FirestreamerMediaMap0.dat and C:\Windows\FirestreamerMediaMap1.dat?

I saved current media map to a file and copied it here.

> How did you apply (load) that media map?

I created it by manually adding existing and creating new media files using Media Layout Editor

> Do you use a script?

I do not use any scripts

> What's the content of C:\Windows\FirestreamerMediaMap0.dat and C:\Windows\FirestreamerMediaMap1.dat?

C:\Windows\FirestreamerMediaMap0.dat:

S*||file://F:\VTL_Tapes\MSU_VAULT10000000039.fsrm|1B0000
S*||file://F:\VTL_Tapes\Z6HXR37HSGJ_U_VAULT10000000038.fsrm|1B0001
S*||file://F:\VTL_Tapes\MSU_0021000000003A.fsrm|1B0002
S*||file://F:\VTL_Tapes\Z6HXR37HSGJ_1000000000A.fsrm|1B0003
D*||file://F:\VTL_Tapes\MSU_VAULT001.fsrm|1B0004

C:\Windows\FirestreamerMediaMap1.dat doesn't exist.

OS: Windows Server 2012 Standard

Could you run inventory and copy and paste here the entire Activity view? Thanks!

I am sorry to say the current version of Firestreamer does not support ArcServe. We however have a beta version which does. If you would like to try it, please contact us privately. Thank you.

The issue with ArcServe is resolved in Firestreamer 4.1.0 (not released yet; the release date is TBD).
