After removing the firestreamer product - demo product expiry, the dpm 2012 console can intermittently fail to start and rebooting the server is the only way to get it back.

How can I 'completely' remove the product, Powershell indicates that the Library is still in the SQL database, but the library does not show in the MMC.

Any Ideas?

DPM is 2012 SP1 ver 4.1.3333.0

Firestreamer is a stand-alone product. It is not aware of Microsoft DPM and does not integrate with it in any way. In particular, Firestreamer does not write anything to any SQL database. Microsoft DPM itself creates a record in its database when it detects a tape library. It's up to Microsoft DPM to remove or not to remove the record when the library is gone.

Firestreamer is removed once the uninstall is complete. Make sure that the following files or directories do not exist:

%program files%\cristalink\FsChanger\ (the folder may contain txt or log files created after Firestreamer was installed)
%system32%\clfs3chr.sys
%system32%\clfs3mtp.sys
%system32%\clfs3mcn.sys

Any crashes of the DPM console are caused solely by bugs in Microsoft DPM. You need to contact Microsoft Support to resolve the issue. We recommend installing the latest service pack and updates for Microsoft DPM.
