Re: Create File Media
You can specify the maximum tape size in the Maximum Size column in the Media Layout Editor. You can select the whole column by clicking its header and then paste the same value into all cells at once. You can update the maximum tape size at any time, but of course you cannot make a tape smaller tha...

Re: DPM 2012 MMC Crash
Firestreamer is a stand-alone product. It is not aware of Microsoft DPM and does not integrate with it in any way. In particular, Firestreamer does not write anything to any SQL database. Microsoft DPM itself creates a record in its database when it detects a tape library. It's up to Microsoft DPM t...

Re: Firestreamer and Riverbed Whitewater
I skimmed through the Riverbed website, but couldn't easily find what their appliance does, precisely. If I am correct in that it provides a network share which is being transparently backed up to a cloud, then there is no apparent reason of why the scenario you described would not work. Riverbed se...

Re: Tape Backups Failing - DPM 2010
>>the recommended action as: Add tape to the library, or to the drive in the case of a stand-alone tape drive. Retry the operation after adding tape. That's exactly what you need to do. Your current tapes seem to be full. You need to load more free tapes, and possibly unload some old tapes in Firest...

Re: Migrate/Move Library to NAS
Yes, it sounds right, but we recommend two more steps to make sure DPM is aware of newly loaded tapes:
0. Unlock the library door in DPM.

10. Lock the library door.
