How do I install my license key?

You receive your license key via email when you purchase a Firestreamer-RM license. Your license key looks as follows.

(begin copy)
--- Firestreamer-RM 2.0 ---
--- License s/n 01238ec3 ---
4a006f0068006e00200053006d006900
74006800000043007200690073007400
5b0282e03322f2f2e7a042bdb4e60d0d
5683420beac9997bd129fdbd4588b08e
--- End ---
(end copy)

To install the license key:

  • Select all the text between (begin copy) and (end copy) with the mouse and press Ctrl+C to copy the license key to the Windows clipboard. It is OK if you select some of the text before and after the license key, but be sure to select the entire key as shown above.
  • Open the Firestreamer-RM Control Panel and select the About tab.
  • Click the Enter License Key button.
  • Press Ctrl+V to paste the key into the text window, if it is not already there.
  • Click OK.

I uninstalled Firestreamer-RM, but the IBM 3480 option is still displayed by the Backup Utility.

The uninstaller removes only the items previously added to your computer by the installer. The IBM 3480 media pool is automatically created by Windows Removable Storage (RSM) once the latter detects the Firestreamer-RM virtual tape drive. RSM does not automatically delete the media pool when the drive is gone. This behavior is by design. There is no harm in having additional media pools registered, even if they are not in use.
